Sergei Bodrov

I consider that Sergei Bodrov is one of the greatest persons of the 20 century. In this essay I will try to prove my point of view.

Sergei Bodrov was a Russian producer, the script writer and the actor. He had lead roles in the movies «Brother», «The prisoner of mountains », «The stranger» and «Brother-2». Sergei  Bodrov  was the son of the Russian playwright, actor, director and producer Sergei Bodrov.  He was killed in the mountains near Karmadon after finishing the second day of shooting of his own film. Sergey Bodrov visited the specialized french language school. Bodrov wanted to enter the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography, but his father explained to him that "cinema is a passion and if you don't have it you should wait for it or forget about it" So he studied art history at the History Department of Moscow State University. He graduated with Honors and began postgraduate studies.While already a famous actor, he completed his graduate thesis entitled "Architecture in the Venetian Renaissance painting" in 1998 and received the Candidate of Scince degree.

In 1989 he appeared on screen for a few minutes in his father’s film «Freedom is Paradise». From October 1996 to August 1999, Bodrov was a host of the show View (Vzglyad) on Channel One ( the Russian channel).  

 He never considered himself to be an actor but he had a born talent in this sphere. During a cinema festival in Sochi in 1996, Sergey Bodrov became acquainted with stage manager Aleksei Balabanov, who invited him to studio STV. Just in this studio, the movie Brother was shot and released in 1997. The mass media criticized the movie. However after some time this film became a symbol of the generation. 

  This film was accused of fascism and racism.Bodrov himself viewed his character in the following way: «I know that Danila is often blamed for being primitive, simple and inarticulate. In part, I agree with that. But I have a metaphor regarding him in my mind: I imagine people in primitive chaos, who sit before the fire in their caves and do not understand anything in their life except for the responsibility to eat and to breed. And suddenly one of them stands up and says very simple words that it is necessary to stand up for their friends, to respect women, to stand up for one's brother». Despite some controversy, the movie received critical acclaim and the award at the movie festival in Sochi, award at an international festival in Turin, the awards in Cottbus , and the Grand Prix in  Trieste. Bodrov received the award for Best Actor at the movie festivals in Sochi and    Chicago and got the "Golden Aries" prize.

   The movie was regarded by many as culturally significant. Bodrov's character Danila Bagrov became a hero and a role model.  I absolutely agree with those people. Bodrov's hero gave an example for the young generation. Of course not like a killer, but like a patriot with multiple examples of views on life. There are a lot of phrases which can change the view on the life. Here is an example from the film «Brother»: 

  The film is rather philosophic.

  The film has its second part under the title: «Brother -2». This film teaches:

 1. Money is not the most important thing in the life.

2. Everyone should have the worthiness and it should be stronger that the fear. 

3.The person should never give up.

4.The person shouldn’t leave his friends in the trouble

This film was watched by several million people. Every day new persons watch it and the film teaches them. That is why I consider that Bodrov can be regarded as one of the greatest persons.

Moreover, Bodrov produced his own films. They are also full of different usuful advice.

So, Sergey Bodrov brought his own contribution into the science ( he became the Candidate of Science), into the development of television ( he was the leading), into the cinema. He became a tutor of youth through his films. He is the great individual!

Love doesn’t always win (the script)

Author: The love story I want to tell you had its beginning on the Saint Valentine's Day - let us suppose that it took place on the 14th of February, 2010 - and its head took place a year later, on the 14th of February, 2011.

    Robert King, an american, met a Belgian woman called Sabine on a bus trip to Havana while he was on holiday in Cuba. It happened on the 14th of February, 2010. They liked each other and spent the following week together. When she decided to return home, she said him:

Sabine:  You know, I think, I have fallen in love with you. I can’t live without you. The last week was the best in my life. Hence I can’t imagine my life without you. You are the only one I want to be with.

Robert: Sabine, excuse me… It is so unexpectedly… I don’t even know how to say… I have a girlfriend and we love each other. We are going to marry the next month… I thought we are friends and I can’t imagine you as someone more for me than just a good friend. Sorry…

Sabine: But… You were so attentive to me… So careful… So tender… How foolish I was???!!!

She turned round and ran away from him. He called her, asked to stop running from him… But he was late…

  

Author: Back in Canada, he realised Sabine could be the woman of his life and began his efforts to track her down. Robert left his bride, having understood that she is not a woman of his life. So having no information about Sabine, he simply didn't see at first any wayout, but then he invented the method to find her. Some people will say with certainty, that he simply became mad, but it is not true. All people, who have ever loved, will never consider Robert to be mad, they will understand his acts.

   Thus, he looked up in the phonebook the addresses of all women named Sabine. There were 3,700 of them. He was schoked that it's such a popular name, but Robert didn't give up. Mr King wrote at first to all the women named Sabine in Brussels. Then he sent letters to the Sabines in Namur, then the rest of the country.

    It continued during all the year, 2010. Sometimes Robert thought that all his actions were senseless. However, he found her at last. But he didn't find her by letter, it was her brother who had heard about his search on the Belgian radio and told Sabine about Robert, knowing about her last year trip.

   So Sabine called Robert.

Sabine: Are you the Robert, with whom I got acquainted year ago?

Robert: Yes, I am… I was looking for you during all the year. After you had gone home, I understood, that I love you… Love you more than life! I really need you!!!

Sabine: And what about your bride? You are to be married, aren’t you???

Robert: No, I am not married… I left her when I understood that I love you.

Sabine: Well…

Robert: I want you to be my wife… Will you marry me?

Sabine: Robert… I feel so sorry for you…But all your pains to find me have been vain. I am already married and I am happy with my husband.

Author: It was the beginning of 2011, exactly the day of their first meeting – the 14^th of February… And became the day of Robert’s death – after the talk with Sabine he took poison…

IT which are the most effective in EFL class

  Everyone knows about the existence of the Internet today. It can be used for absolutely different purposes: for searching of some information, for the entertaining, for searching of new friends and even of a second half, for the exchange of some personal information and so on. One of the most effective ways is to use it for the educational purposes. It is very comfortable to learn English just sitting at home on your own chair near the computer. And it is comfortable not only to learn but also to teach.

   I think that every person who uses the Internet knows about the existence of the Skype. With the help of this program you can communicate with the other person, or even with the group of persons. There is no matter where you are or where they are. You can be in Ukraine and your friend may be in India, there is no matter. You will hear him and also see (if he has a web-camera). And it is an absolutely free service inside the Internet. There are a lot of sites in the Internet, which propose the services of tutor on absolutely different languages. You can study any foreign language with the help of the professional teacher. And you do not even need to leave the house. On the other hand, if you have a diploma and a good foreign language knowledge you can find a work as a tutor trough the Internet. The Skype can be also used for the communication between two persons, who want to train their foreign language speaking abilities.

 Another kind of activities for learning English is the system of blogs. We use it and personally I think that it is rather convenient, but predominantly for learning to write correctly and to understand the foreign language. But nevertheless it is rather effective when we speak about the group of students. The teacher can give and cheek the tasks, the students can see all the works and can comment on them.

 A few years ago a method of the 25-th shot was rather popular. You could reserve a video through the Internet which will help in the quick remembering of a great quantity of words. But the scientists proved that it is not effective.

 Not a long time ago I’ve known about the project «Second Life». It is a game but not a usual one. The person lives in the virtual world in the real sense of this word. It is like an RPG game but you can speak into the microphone and the other virtual but really exists person will hear and see your virtual hero in the real time. Moreover people can spend real money here. Every day people buy and spend here at least two million dollars! Some persons use this service for the promoting of their new songs, things or services. Other people meet here just for the communication. I think it is rather useful for the foreign language studying. It at least raises the motivation.

   In the end I want to remember about some already usual services. First of all there are the electronic vocabularies. They make the process of translation much quicker. Moreover, you can find rare free electronic on-line vocabularies. Some of them it is practically unreal to find in the shops.  The person can check his or her knowledge with the help of the special Internet sites. There are several tests. You can also find hundreds of foreign films with or without the subtitles. And of course bilingual books.

  Decide what is more comfortable and effective: to travel that to communicate with the foreigners, to visit several shops and libraries for searching of the vocabularies or just to use the Internet for these purposes. You are to decide.  

What Kind of Music Touches The Strings of My Heart.

  Music is my favorite kind of art. It is strongly operates and influences the mood, the consciousness and even the unconsciousness.

  First of all I want to write a few words about the influence of music, or to say exactly of a sound on a human and on nature. A lot of organisms use different sounds for communication, but only a human uses them for some other cases. Have you already read about the influence of music on water? The scientists write that the best influence comes from the classical music. I completely agree with this point. But I can’t agree with their statement that the hard rock music destroys water. They do not explain what kind of the hard rock music they used and how they’ve been doing it. Music is also influences the human. Have you heard about audio drugs? It is one of the last inventions in this sphere. With the help of different sounds of different frequency occurs the influence on a human brain. It can cause different fillings, similar to those from the usage of drugs. But a human doesn’t get uses to them. I’ve tried to listen to some audio drugs for several times and can say for sure that some influence they certainly have, but it is not too strong. So music is the strong power! Personally I like the following kinds of modern music: rock, punk-rock, some kinds of heavy metal, folk music, classical music. I like the following groups from the rock and punk rock music: «Ария», «Король и Шут», «Кино», «Крематорий» , «Чиж»,  «Кукрыниксы»,  «Наив»,  «Тараканы». All of them touch some problems. The group «Ария» touches the problems of a human nature, of love, the problems of society, of struggle between good and harm. The group «Король и Шут» touches a lot of themes of the mythology, of a human nature, some philosophical problems. The group «Кино» is famous for the texts and the perfect acoustic guitar playing. The texts are overflowed with the different problems. It is not necessary to continue to write about all others, because they do the same, however with the certain features. What I want to underline is that nevertheless they have as calm music (which provokes to think) as very fast music (which personally me gives energy). I like the phrase from the one song of the group «Тараканы»: the poet in Russia is more than poet, in Russia all the poets are rock actors. I am sure it is really so. The verses in songs of these groups have the rather high quality. The music is perfectly well performed. A few words should be said about the «metal» music. I associate it with the classical music, but in modern performance. Imagine such a famous person as Mozart with the electric guitar!  I think it would be wonderful!

   In the end I want to say a few words about the pop music and the rap music. I think that the rap music is not the music at all, because we can hear almost only verses. 

  I would call the pop music like «Fast food», because I’ve not found neither texts with some deep content, no music. The songs are done just for money earning.

 I do not want to offend somebody, it is just my personal point of view. Everyone has the right to have it.
